Susan Sarandon Bio
It was the 1968 Democratic Convention and there was a casting request for a movie with many parts for young people who interrupted it. Two recent graduates of Catholic University in Washington DC went to the audition in New York for Joe (1970). Chris Sarandon was not selected even though he previously studied acting. Susan, his wife Susan was chosen for a leading role as Susan Compton, the child of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill kills Susan’s drug dealer boyfriend. Then, Joe (Peter Boyle) as a bigot, who works on an assembly line and has a collection of guns, is a friend to Susan. Five years later, Sarandon plays the role in the movie. Janet is a transvestite who is entangled by Dr. Frank n Furter (1975). Sarandon fought for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 years following her first appearance in the film. She flew at her own expense from Rome from Italy, from Italy to Los Angeles. She stated "It was an incredible script... it eliminated a myriad of stereotypes and challenged the American definition of what success is". "When I arrived, I spent some time with Kevin Costner, kissed some ladies at the studio, then went back to my plane". The romance she had with Bull Durham (1988)) acting partner, Tim Robbins, had produced two sons by 1992, and put Sarandon in the position of leaving her domestic paradise and stepping into roles that challenged her. There were four Academy Award nominations were received in the 1990s. The best actress award was presented for Dead Man Walking (1995) was also given. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
