Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath in The romantic-drama film Piano. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington, she was the first actress to appear as a character in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Following a prompt to auditions open at age nine and having no prior experience acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath role. Flora was the daughter of a Scottish musician who was blind. The couple were relocated into New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to get married. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre as only a child. Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed the polexia Aphrodisa character on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
