Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31 1965 was an American actress. When she was 12, she began her career as a model for children. She won critical acclaim for her part in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her late teenage years and appeared in a variety of dramas in the 80s, such as The Blue Lagoon (1980), and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields suspended her career as a model to go to Princeton University, where she obtained a bachelor's diploma in Romance Languages. Shields returned to acting in the late 1990s, and was featured in small roles in movies. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), for which she received two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. In 2017, Shields was back on NBC as a key recurring part in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the show's 19th season. Shields has the role of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon, 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to William Addams Reitwiesner's research, Shields is related to numerous noble families in Italy especially from Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi, who was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her great-uncle, Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the father of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid an amount from the family of Frank to stop the pregnancy.
